Receta y ode
What this project was all about: For this project we chose different Latin American countries to pick a food from. We had to pick a recipe that was originated in this country. With our food we found a recipe that was easy to make and translate. Next, the translated version of the recipe would be presented at exhibition, along with our ode. An ode is a poem that discribes a food through descriptive language and metaphors. These poems added in another aspect to the project, I found much joy writing my ode.
The project itself: For my country I chose Puerto Rico. As for my dish i decided I wanted to do a dessert style dish so I picked Budin Pudding. It was a bread pudding with rasins. Many of the people i served it too at exhibition loved it and wanted more. I had a lot of fun making food for school. I have also had a lot of fun with all of the Spanish projects this year, thanks to Dave Haffeman. Linked below are my Ode and my translated version of my recipe.

Arte y Lengua
Descripcion del trabajo: For this project we could pick and research any Latin American artist. After picking the artist we looked at many of the pieces that they have made, finding what kinds of art they like to do such a surrealist, abstract, real life, and etc. After we had looked at many of their works, gaining knowledge about their styles we had to create a piece of work that resembled something that this artist would make. Then, we had to write a paper about how the artist, and how he does his works. We also had to include how our piece of art resembles the work of our Latin American Artist.
Reflexion: My biggest take away from this project was the inspiration that I received from Jerico Santander's works. Santander has made ads for companies such as Asics, MTV, and U.S. Olympics. These pieces made me want to use my Photoshop skills to make ads a successful as these. One unique thing that I learned about Santander through my research is that he started his artistic career using colored pencils and pasteles. When he was 28 years of age he started using Photoshop. Since i was inspired by these creative Photoshop projects, I made a project that i was very proud of, it featured a lion , mountains, clouds, and a lot of stars at the top of the page. Although next time if I were to do this same project I would incorporate some sort of human aspects because my art piece did not have a human in it and many of his works have humans in them. Finally, one Challenge I came around when creating this piece was the fading layers of the lions face that made it look like it was coming out of the sun/moon.

NACIDO NO EN LOS EEUU / BORN NOT IN THE USA
My children's Spanish book is a product that I am very proud of. Un dia en Santiago is title I decided to use as it tells the story of a boy who lives in Chile. Throughout this project i have learned that many of the activities that people in the states think Latin Americans do is very mutated from the things they really do, although there are some similarities.
The thing that I am most proud of with this project is the content. Since learning a new language has not been the easiest for me this semester, and i had a lot of corrections to make and i thought I would never get them all done. If I were to do this project again I would of spend more time on my first draft because I would of not had to make so many corrections and I would of had more time to work on my drawings.

The EXHIBITION with Del-Alma
The exhibition with the Del-Alma students at Riverview was a very fun experience. Reading our children's books to these students was very rewarding as they gazed at the pictures hand drawn in the book. Although many of them did not know much Spanish but still followed along as we review each page and the content within. Although reading in Spanish is still quite a new task.
Children's book Reflection
The thing that I am most proud of with this project is the content. Researching a Latin American city and discovering the activities they do was enjoyable because you got the see the many different things they do. But since learning a new language has not been the easiest for me this semester, and i had a lot of corrections to make and i thought I would never get them all done.
