About Me, Riley Wanzek

      Hello my name is Riley Wanzek and I am attending Animas High School, a new charter school that is located in Durango, Co. Animas has been around for three successful years, and I am apart of the third graduating class of 2015. I chose too go to Animas High because my whole life I have disliked doing worksheets and reading out of textbooks. But, at Animas everything is project based. Also, the classes are small and the teachers are all very understanding to each students needs. Finally, the atmosphere at the school is very welcoming and laid back.
     One of the things that I am most passionate about in my life is Telemark Skiing. I've been skiing since I was two years old, but I learned to free my heel when I was 10 or 11 years ago. Ever since I have loved it and want to ski any and every chance that I get. I also love to slalom waterski, longboard, fly fish, and mountain bike. Living in Southwest Colorado these are all ideal activities to do.

This one of my first photoshop project. This eye was orginally light blue but one of the "how to" videos show me how to do this.

I was named after Riley-Boy, an avalanche slide path north of Silverton, Co. Also I love to backcountry ski with friends and family. A goal I would like to ski this before I go off to college.

My sister and I looking off at the view of Burt Lake at my grandma's house in Northern Michigan. I spend much of my summers on this lake.
