Polynomials and Art
For this project we traced parabolic lines from and random images. Then we plugged them into our calculators and found the points of the newly found polynomials. After we did this step wen then made up a new polynomial from the lines we traced. After we mapped the new line we found local minimums and maximums. The final step was to illustrate a new image including our new line, this could be whatever image we wanted mine ended up being an abstract face.
Project Reflection
This project was the funnest project we did this year in Algebra 2, I really had fun coming up with my new and original drawing. Although It bummed me out because this was the only project we did and it was at the beginning of the semester and I did not gain much at the end. Throughout the year we had a very textbook heavy curriculum, a lack of diversity in the assignments made it hard for me and many of my peers. Projects like this are what make learning fun and project based, but in college I will have a textbook heavy curriculum and I need to adapt to this method of teaching.
First Semester Algebra 2 refelction
As I reflect on my first semester of Algebra 2 I can conclude that Algebra did not come very easily for me this semester. A lot of time was spent at office hours making up and gaining a better understanding of the concepts we were learning. A piece of work that I am very proud of is the problems that I came up with for the semester exam. I am proud of this because I got a reasonably high grade on this assignment. I turned it in with confidence, knowing that I put much effort into it and I did it well. The reason for this is due to the fact that I spent much time at office hours with Effi working on these problems. This work shows that I can create beautiful work in math which was a struggle for me. I learned a lot about myself in math this year, I learned that I need to pay more close attention each day, this is because we are learning new concepts each day and I cannot afford to get lost. I will work on this habit next semester, and I will continue to come to office hours when I need help.
